The Gateway to your preferred University

Key Facts on UK Universities

  • A British university education is universally recognised to be of the highest quality. Students from all over the world seek admission to degree courses in the UK.
  • There are more than 120 full Universities in the UK and several hundred more Higher Education institutions. A number of the HE institutions can still offer a full degree by having their own courses validated by a full University. You can see the list of full Universities at http://www.ucas.ac.uk/instit/index.html
  • Entry to British universities is competitive and it is important to have the best possible advice and support when applying. You can find full information on how David Game College provides this in the Advice and Support section of this website.
  • On the chart below you will see how David Game College offers two distinct gateways to Higher Education.
  • There is the well-established A Level route (essential for those seeking admission to the elite universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and to Imperial College, or LSE and UCL at London University or to a course in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Law at the top UK universities). The College offers a wide range of A Level subjects and these can be studied in a variety of combinations. (See the section on A Levels on this website).
  • Alternatively students with appropriate school leaving qualifications can opt for the University Foundation Programme (UFP), a course pioneered by David Game College – this is a full time course lasting one academic year.
  • The College also offers a University Diploma Programme (UDP), equivalent to the first year of a university degree course. For full details on UFP and UDP see the section on ‘UFP’  or  ‘UDP’ on this website.
