University Foundation Programme

The University Foundation Programme (UFP) is a one academic year full-time course that offers students an alternative route to British University degree courses. UFP at David Game College has a 100% success rate in securing its successful students a place at a British University. The UFP is an alternative to GCE A Levels and the International Baccalaureate.

Who applies for UFP courses?

  • The majority of students on the UFP course come from an international background. They may have an excellent educational track record in their own countries, but their qualifications do not meet UK university entrance requirements.
  • We accept UK students with good GCSE grades or students who have attempted A or AS Levels but did not achieve the grades required to enter the university course of their choice. Note that UK university entrance is generally at a minimum of 18. Therefore we do not usually accept UK students below the age of 17 because the UFP is a one year course.
  • We also recommend UFP to students who have stopped at Certificate level on the International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • The David Game College UFP is offered in both London and Bath.

Key Facts for UFP

  • UFP has two start dates per year, September (to June), and January (to August).
  • Students study six modules in total: 3 minor modules in pre-determined subjects (Mathematics, IT and Communication Skills); then choose three major modules that are relevant to their intended degree course (from Business & Finance. Law and Social Science. Engineering & Technology, Science and Art & Design).
  • For those international students who require it, the UFP includes English Language tuition to prepare students for the BC IELTS examinations. This ensures that all UFP students meet University English Language entry requirements.
  • Over the past 16 years we have a 100% success rate in finding a university place for students who pass UFP.
  • All students applying to British Universities must go through the UCAS application system. The UFP Director of Studies helps each student individually to complete his/her UCAS application form.
  • UFP is fully accepted by 75 British Universities and Colleges and has also been accepted by Universities in America, Canada and Australia.
  • UFP will not gain students entry to Medical, Dentistry or Veterinary Science university courses or Oxbridge, for which students will require good A Level passes. Please discuss with a College Adviser.
