Aims & Curriculum - Modern Foreign Languages and Tourism
The MFL department & Tourism has a distinctive contribution to make to the School Curriculum and our aims are to:
- Engage students’ curiosity and stimulating debate will always be the key. I
- Develop the ability to use language effectively for purposes of practical communication
- Boost learners’ confidence with visits to sites of cultural interest, workshops and seminars
- Develop an awareness of the nature of language and language learning
- Encourage positive attitudes to foreign language learning and to speakers of foreign languages and a sympathetic approach to other cultures and civilisations
- Develop students' understanding of themselves and their own culture
